This collection, ‘Moldovan Summers’ was shown at the National Museum of the History of Moldova, 22 Oct - 10 Nov 2025.

About the exhibition: For the last year I have had the opportunity to live and paint in Moldova. I have painted from life in the streets of Chisinau, in the garden at home, in my studio, or out in the countryside. Subjects have changed swiftly with the seasons, but the summer in particular has proven rich with sources of inspiration. I have had the privilege to paint picturesque coloured houses and healthy frog-filled rivers, to hunt through the Chisinau markets for unique still life objects, and to pick up perfect sunflowers buzzing with bees from ladies on the streets to bring home and turn into a painting that will preserve their vivacity forever. I now present a collection of those moments which I hope will each evoke its own cherished memory in the viewer, and rekindle a feeling of the warmth of Moldova’s bucolic summers.

The Museum selected five works from the exhibition to keep as part of their permanent collection.
